Birmingham Golf Link Circuit Join a Golf Club

If you'd like an official handicap, you'll need to join a golf club. But this doesn't have to cost a fortune.

Attached to each of Birmingham's seven golf courses is a club where annual membership fees are as little as £40 - even less for juniors. In fact, our fees are the lowest in the region (see below).

You don't have to be a brilliant golfer to join. As long as you are comfortable playing 18 holes you will be very welcome. The clubs are open to everybody and there are few waiting lists.

There are men's, ladies', senior and junior sections within each club.

Hatchford Brook Golf Course

Do Club members have to pay green fees?

Yes - normal green fees apply. To encourage participation in major tournaments some clubs pay your green fees if you represent them in major competitions.

What rules do I need to know?

Club members and the professional staff will be happy to help and guide you. Golf etiquette is really just common sense - leaving the course in reasonable condition and showing consideration to other players.

As a Club member do I get preferential tee time booking rights?

No - however, to organise its competitions the club has a number of tee times that are reserved well in advance. When you apply to play in a club tournament you are able to plan your golfing diary well in advance.

How can I join a Club?

Simply complete an application form, which is available from the Pro shop. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact the golf pro at your chosen course.

What do I get by joining a golf club?

A golf handicap certificate validated by The Council of National Golfing Unions (CONGU). Your handicap certificate gives you access to other courses throughout the world, many of which require evidence of your playing ability before allowing you to play.
