Golf Handicaps and Competitions

Golf Handicaps

A golf handicap is an official indication of your golfing ability and allows you to play at any golf course in the world.

With a golf handicap you can compare your game against other golfers - even tour professionals. It can also represent a great challenge, as you strive to improve your game and reduce your handicap score.

To obtain a handicap you must join a golf club and play the course three times with a club member. Each scorecard must be signed and passed to the club's Handicap Secretary and your lowest score will form the basis of your official handicap.

If you don't know a club member, the Golf Pro or the club's Competition Secretary will be happy to arrange for someone to partner you for a round of golf.

To adjust your handicap simply submit signed scorecards after playing in subsequent golf tournaments.

Competitions

Weekly competitions are organised all year round, for all levels of ability.

You will receive a fixture list each year and information on tournaments can be found on club notice boards.
