The Birmingham High Performance Centre was officially opened by Richard Caborn, on 6th February 2003. Located at the renowned Birmingham Alexander Stadium, in Perry Barr. The project was funded jointly by Sport England and Birmingham City Council and forms part of the English Institute of Sport (EIS) network. The EIS has funded its own sports science and medicine centre in the building.
This amazing building offers state of the art indoor training facilities for athletes of all ages and abilities including local schools, giving them access to the following:
- 110 metre 8 lane track
- High Jump
- Pole Vault
- Triple Jump
- Long Jump
- Throws Cage
With the 2012 Olympics fast approaching, this venue will continue to be a unique and essential establishment for athletes to train all year
round.
