The Exercise on Prescription programme
is designed for people with several of the known risks for heart
disease - eg overweight, smoking, high blood pressure. Some GPs
hane an arrangement to send their patients to a fitness instructor
here for an assessment and personal programme. Ask your family

This is a gentle exercise and healthy lifestyle
class aimed at people with osteoporosis or similar chronic problems
such as arthritis or back pain. Led by a qualified and experienced
teacher and developed with the National Osteoporosis Society,
this class helps build strength, stamina and fitness. With safe
exercises appropriate to individual's needs and abilities, everyone
works at theri own pace. A break for refreshments, a time for
relaxation and information about leading a healthy life, this
class is fun as well as healthy. Come along to try it or contact

Developed in conjunction with the Stroke Clinic at Moseley Hall
Hospital and the Stroke Association this class is very similar
to OsteoAction described above. People work at theri own pace
and level to increase their mobility, balance and posture; learn
stress reduction techniques and build strength in weakend areas.
