Junior Options Scheme

Junior Coaching

Have you completed your Supreme Strokes Award (or equivalent)?
Do you want to know what it's like to be a member of your local Swimming Club?

Why not give Junior Coaching a try! This class covers better stroke technique, swimming drills, how to dive from the pool side and lots more!!

To enrol pupils must be

  •   Able to swim 400 metres effectively
  •   Confident in deep water
  •   Able to submerge fully and tread water

Performance Awards

Have you completed your Supreme Strokes Award (or equivalent)?
Want to carry on swimming but not in a competative manner?

This class covers personal survival skills, further improve stroke technique, distance swimming, and lots more!! (these awards are sometimes completed as part of Junior Coaching classes, contact your local pool for more information)

To enrol pupils must be

  •   Able to swim at least 600 metres effectively
  •   Confident in deep water
  •   Able to submerge fully and tread water
Bronze Peformance Award certificate

Rookie Lifesavers

Rookie is the Royal Life Saving Society's Lifesaving skills programme for young people.
It is divided into four areas;
Water Safety, Rescue, Self Rescue and Emergency Response.
If you are aged between 5 & 13 and have completed your Supreme Strokes Award (or equivalent), it could be the course for YOU!

To enrol pupils must be

  •   Able to swim 100 metres effectively
  •   Confident in deep water
  •   Able to submerge fully and tread water

The programme aims to:

Teach lifesaving skills
Increase swimming competence
Develop survival skills in water
Develop confidence, initiative, judgement
Develop teamwork and leadership
BE FUN

Kayaking (Canoeing)

Finished your Supreme Strokes Award (or equivalent) and want to try something a little bit different?

Why not give Canoeing a go!

Learn the basic skills in a safe environment and then take what you have learnt away with you.

To enrol pupils must be

  •   Able to swim 100 metres effectively
  •   Confident in deep water
  •   Able to submerge fully and tread water

Available at a few Leisure Point sites check your nearest pool for more details.

Snorkeling

Have you completed your Supreme Strokes Award (or equivalent)?
Don't fancy swimming for a club or lifesaving, or are you going on hoilday soon?
Want to have a go at something a little bit different?
Why not try snorkeling?

Learn the basic skills in a safe environment and then take what you have learnt away with you. Experience what wonders the Sea bed has install for you!

To enrol pupils must be

  •   Able to swim 100 metres effectively
  •   Confident in deep water
  •   Able to submerge fully and tread water

Synchronised Swimming

Ever wondered how those synchro swimmers on the tv manage to stay underwater for the length of time they can?
Well now is your chance to have a go yourselves.

To enrol pupils must be

  •   Able to swim 100 metres effectively
  •   Confident in deep water
  •   Able to submerge fully and tread water

If you have completed your Supreme Strokes Award (or equivalent) you can enrol on a learn to synchro course at a site near you.
